There's nothing misleading about it. It's standard practice in data analysis to do that, so you get all the data you want in the graph, and still get the closest level of detail so you can see the actual data points more clearly.

Do an auto graph in Excel with similar data, and it will give you one that looks like that.

I personally think your automatic opposition to anything goof posts is much more constant than any of his posting habits.
