Sprint makes baby Christ cry

So, being stuck at a house with shit-speed DSL would be no problem if I could actually get it in more than one room for my iBook. So, I bring along a Linksys WRT54G, which has worked for 6 solid months with no hiccups, restarts, etc. Hook it up to the Sprint 645M modem/bridge, follow the proper order of turning things back on (Modem, Router, PC's) and I get nothing; the router is routing, but the modem seems to not be giving anything to the router so far as internet traffic is concerned. My first guess was that the modem just passes the PPPoE calls to the PC which had some BS Sprint/Earthlink software on it that looked vaguely like a connection manager. Turns out it isn't, since I can move the modem to another room, plug it into my iBook, and surf the net with no problem, and never putting in a username or password. I've tried all sorts of seemingly random configurations in the router settings page, none of which work (what the hell is a telstata cable setup?)
