Most things that you say are excellent are mediocre. So I am gonna assume this is mediocre and not bother.

trust me on this one. It's a unique gaming experience and it is truly horrifying without using cheap tactics.
It's also a very intelligently designed game.

Is it really worth pausing the porn for?
it seems that those who've actually had faith and installed it are so immersed in the game that they cannot respond here.
Give it a shot dude. Have I ever let you down before?

from a new york times review:
Insanity is what makes Psychonauts entertaining and unusual, so it is a shame you have to spend several hours in the mildly eccentric minds of instructors before getting to the cool part of the game. This isn't a problem with the White Chamber, a homemade adventure game that is utterly mad from beginning to end.
With its two-dimensional graphics and text-only dialogue, Chamber feels like a game from the mid-1990's. It's very short: it can be completed in about an hour, but it is a great hour.
Chamber begins as a young woman awakens in a coffin on a deserted spaceship. She must solve a series of puzzles to open doors to new areas of the ship as she searches for clues. Solving puzzles twists reality, so you might leave a room, solve a puzzle, then re-enter the room to find it is now made of pulsating flesh. The game has a creepy sensibility similar to the Silent Hill series, accentuated by eerie ambient noises.
Grisly and intriguing, with logical puzzles and surprising plot twists, Chamber is a first-rate garage game. If you can look past its small budget and short playing time, it is arguably a more successful game than Microids's Still Life, a similarly puzzle-driven adventure that is far slicker but less consistent.

I played it a little but I had to run over to the uni. If it only takes an hour to beat I think I'll keep going.

the torture scene was probably the most disturbing for me.
Not sure if that part exists in all the 4 possible paths you can take though - haven't played this game since last night.

me too - pretty sick shit.
Tonight gonna try to find the other endings. Might vary depending on how you answer the questions at start, or whether you take the cradle up instead of down.
Did your heart stop when you re-entered the main room and saw that creature?

No not really
I made it past the fridge. It was really easy like I expected. But now I can't find a way to light the explosives or get into the freezer.

The horribly tacky anime style graphics, and the tactfully labeled items, such as "Can of Drink" tell me, this game might just be too good for me.

Just got the other three endings. The game would have been 10x if it were using an engine like Resident Evil but overall it was still pretty sweet.

how the fuck do you get past the fridge? I have the head, eyes, both arms, and 1 leg assembled, and the explosives. But I can't figure out how to light the explosives, or stop my face from melting because I go through the fridge room 3 times.

Hit the switch that used to bring up the video player. It will now open to reveal a giant mouth. Then you walk over to where the chain attaches to the wall and hit it with the axe.
As for the explosives: you will need to use the laser desk, the batteries, and the mirror.
