Criminal Charges

Well my buddy that was driving my car had his court date today and great news. Turns out they weren't able to charge him with the gun found in the car because they didn't have a search warrant for the car. So they confiscated the gun because it wasn't registered but they can't charge anyone for it. He was also found with weed, steroids, xtc and 2 ounces of coke. He's plead guilty and they've dropped two of the charges, the weed and steroids so he's being charged with 2 ounces of cocaine and xtc.
Since he has no criminal record they think he just might get house arrest.
Good news, we'll be having a drink tonight

How much is an ounce? Would that still count as "possession with intent to use" or is it "possession with intent to sell"?

Yes this has been covered. I'm just surprised the gun charge was dropped so easily. Having an unregistered 9mm ruger in a car is a pretty serious offence from what I've heard.

It's not that is isn't serious or they aren't treating it seriously. I'm sure that the legal system would like to burn your friend at the stake, testicles first, for having an unlicensed hand gun in this country. But if they found it on his property without a warrant, it's inadmissible or however the legal jargon goes -- we have laws to protect us from unfair police practises. And while your friend deserves to be excommunicated to Harlem wearing the sandwich board from Die Hard 2 (?), the law can't do anything about it.

So lemme see if I have this straight.....
A drug-dealing "buddy" of yours fucks you over in your own car. Buddy gets busted for carrying a shitload of product (and scales to measure it out with) and buddy even did the "serious offense" of having an unregistered 9mm ruger in your ride which caused you to have your car impounded for a while (cause you refused to come up with the money yourself to get it your own car out of impound).
And now you'll be having a drink with buddy tonight? I wonder if he'll ask to borrow your car?

Long story short:
EVERYONE in Newfoundland and MOST people in NS, NB and PEI call EVERYONE ELSE in town "buddy".
Christ...I remembered when I visited relatives in Nfld several years ago. I was kinda fucked up the whole week because I thought every living soul in town (including females) was named "buddy". It's amazing those inbreds even know who they're talking about.
One things for sure: It sure keeps the phone book thinner.

This is good news? Your friend sounds like the scum of society; a gun toting drug dealer.
As a fellow canadian I'm annoyed at our failure to prosecute such trash. I hope your friend does in fact go to jail. And in jail I hope he gets forced into uncomfortable sexual positions like he deserves for being such a drain on society.
And since you're here touting your pleasure with the verdict, I therefore hope you too go to jail one day for your moronic adventures. And I hope you too get forced into uncomfortable sexual positions. Maybe then when one of the Cardinals is filling your anal cavity with semen you'll have a chance to reflect on how you've wasted your life trying to attain success at being a complete fucking loser that society wishes would fuck off and die. In a fire. In the hood. The hood you helped create. Cunts.

The only reason you're ever funny GKY is cause you can NEVER get a story straight and everyone buys in to them.

My car was impounded because it was evidence and the police wated it as proceeds of crime and I had to prove it wasn't and that I had no involvement, which I did.
At that point they released the car to me. Not because I wouldn't pay it retard. Second, the cost of the impound fee was nearly 900$ and I talked him down to a couple hundred I beleive which was paid by my friend.

Dumb fag.

Eyuh...I remember your thread where you bitched about the price. You didn't want to pay it and didn't pay it right away....cause you're poor and don't have that kind of money in the bank.
But you still haven't proved that my "story" was inaccurate.

I dunno, you guys don't know the whole story but what I will tell you is that he was in a situation that lead to this. He knew he what he was doing and he takes full responsibility for it. It would be so easy for him to say it was my car and I did it and it was my shit but he didn't.
The fact is he's solid as hell as far as friends go. He's loyal and loyalty among friends is so underrated it's sad. Most people you'll meet in your life will likely turn on you if shit starts to fly. He didn't he was man enough to take the charge and do his time for his choices. Plus he even paid the impound fee. How much more could I ask?

Sorry you're full of shit, everything you say is full of shit all the time, you exagerate a story so that it sounds rediculous all the fucking time. For example, I'm NOT 5'5 I DO pay 5$ a beer but you conveniently forget to mention that without tip a beer is 4,00 to 4.25 depending on where I'm at and countless other crap you've made up including this.

Listen Krackus. If you're going to post exaggerated stories on the Internet to try and make yourself look good, it's only your own fault that people ridicule your BS and make it even more ridiculous.
Deal with it.

He's a 'good' guy that makes his living off of crippling his fellow man?
Why did he have a gun with him in the first place?
Almost 30 years old and you still think there's honor among theives? Think hard about that because it truely alleviates to your mental and social level.
Stop defending criminals and thugs, you're fooling nobody.

So? The guy is responsible for half a dozen charity drives around town too when he used to manage a pool hall before he lost that job. He wasn't forcing anyone to take drugs anyway and he even refused to sell to certain people because they were too bad. You would be surprised how many pharmasists and lawyers and managers do blow buddy. It's not all crackheads.
I'm not saying what he was doing wasn't wrong but personaly it doesn't affect me one bit.
