Quake3World

Hi all,

I have a huge problem. My keyboard and mouse will not work in Quake 3 arena. So hopefully someone can help me out. I am running Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. Also Activision cant seem to help me out with this problem. I have uninstalled, reinstalled the game on several situations and yet this will not help me.

What model keyboard and mouse do you use? Do they work in other games (e.g. RTCW, ET, etc)?

I have an HP Keyboard and a logitech mouse.

but you could try the shotgun approach:
move q3config.cfg out of the quake3 directory, start the game... see if it works.
could also try re-installing directx.
even though q3 doens't use direct3d for video it does use directinput for the kb and mouse.
could try re-installing drivers for the kb and mouse
if they're on usb ports you could try re-installing the chipset drivers for the mb
or making sure they are on physical ports, not a usb hub.

yes they work in other games.

The mouse is USB and the keyboard is ps2

I have moved the config file out of the folder as a suggestion by Activision and it yet didnt work..

Have you updated the drivers for your keyboard/mouse/motherboard recently?

Some keyboards and mice have software that will need to be running in the background in order to work properly.

All of the drivers are currently up to date according to my computer. Also I cant think of anything else that may be running in the background besides the internet (required for online play)
