Does boot order matter?

For some reason, the boot order of my mobo says NONE for the first device and my DVD drive as the 2nd. The comp boots up fine though. Could this have an adverse on performance with the HD?

sounds like the bios is smart enough to use the hard drive as a boot device regardless.

it's easy to fix though , play around with the bios and make the hard drive as the first boot device.
google editing the bios if you need to.

My boot up goes floppy, cd-rom then the hard drive.

I really need to find a program that will make a boot cd for different boots.

I have Drive Image and Partition Magic and a couple others like a memory diagnostic boot that I'd love to stick all on one cd.
