Anybody else see the opening time trial today? I feel bad for Ullrich, he basically got torn a new one by Lance today.

I hope somebody else than Lance Armstrong win this year. Anybody but him would be good.

I feel that the participant who passes the finish line first should win. In other words, if Lance runs superb like he's done six times before, he should win!

I hope he breaks his legs.

Lance was also singled out for a second drug test - apparently the only competitor to have a second one, out of the blue.

He should be made to cycle the whole Tour on flat tires.

Maiden - have you played at Druids Glen outside of Seattle?
Might be giving it a go sometime later this summer.

cant say that i have. haven't really played too many places around the city, mostly up north or olympia.

looks like our trip will be Aug. 7-11, either chelan or priest lake, so desert canyon, or coeur d' alene is going to be on order, you gonna be around at that time?

Doubtful. I've got a wedding in Eugene on the 7th, and then the wife and I will probably be doing a little vacationing up the coast before coming back this way.
I've not played Desert Canyon. If you are coming over here, though, I'd say play Circling Raven before you play the Cour d' Alene.

Lance's body was built for this type of thing. I was watching a show on the Discovery Science channel about his preparing for this. His heart is 30% larger than normal, allowing him to pump more blood to his body. His lungs are 40% more efficient than normal, allowing him to get more oxygen out of every breath. His body builds up less acid when strained, allowing him to go longer when pushing himself to the limit before his body gives out (for the final leg of the race when he goes all out, or in the time trials). Plus other things.

Oh, and he's got a team of people using the most sophisticated technology to optimize the wind resistance of his suit/helmet/bike. His shoes are so thin and form-fitting that it weighs as much as an additional layer of skin. His suit is dimpled like a golf ball to make it generate less drag in the wind.

If you ask me, it's kind of unfair that he gets all these toys to play with; he's already got so much of an advantage. Everyone should be using the same bike and the same gear...
