Crashing problem

Hey everyone,
Ive been having this weird problem with my computer. Games would randomly crash to desktop wil no warning. I've just formatted and installed bf2 and lego star wars. When bf2 crashes to desktop it would sometimes bring up and ATI thing saying the card wasn't responding to commands.
It may have something to do with what happened a few weeks ago. It got very hot and humid, for England anyway... and my PC overheated and consequently powered down a few times. I could only boot up once I turned it off by the mains.
Im about to do a full hard drive diagnostic and possibly mem test, but would like to get some other opinions.
Thanks
David

Sounds like your video card is overheating. Does it have sensor support (i.e. temperature readings)?

try removing your side cover, and see if that helps.

Ta for the replies thus far.
Ive tried a HDD diagnostic which failed. Didn't say why exactly, but I beleive its reporting bad sectors. Could this contribute to the crashing?
Already have my side panel open.

I use Seagte's own program run outside of windows, so unable to screenshot it.
Though if you reccomend a program i'll take a screenie of what that says.

i cant really give to meny recommendations, becuase MOST of the windows based ones are not 100% simply because They Are ment for all hdd's and will not give Vender Specific Spec's/errors..
Run it again, and write down most of the Error Message, it shouldent be more then a Sentance.

Well, just came back from a full test (took ages). It found a single bad sector and was able to fix it.
Ive played lego star wars for an hour or so and no problems. Tbh, i never thought a single bad sector could cause thiis problem.
Im keeping my fingers crossed though. Will post if anything goes wrong.
Ta for the help so far guys.

Speaking of BF2, I am a fucking beast helicopter pilot. If only I had the full retail version, I would be able to crush egos just like like Duhard.
I hope everything works out for you DiscoDave. Good Luck!
