Ok to start this topic off, I would like to state that I've been out of a relationship for eight months, had some benefits going on but I cut that off. Now, say you meet this chick, she likes you, you like her. The only problem is, you see her telling other guys that she doesn't want a boyfriend at the moment, because her ex was a lousy, piece of shit that left her after she had a kid. You buy her breakfast every now and then, you buy her some smokes, food, crap that she's unable to get due to her financial situation.

Now, my dilemma is, I'm not sure what I should do. Should I keep this up? Should I send her flowers for no reason, should I continue playing the friend role until I die? Should I even be posting this on Quake3World Forums? What would you do? ....if you're a decent person.

I've been spending time proving, but I think if I really want to be with her, I need to show her that I can deal with the kid

so how long you have you been her 'friend' for?
of course you do realise if you keep it up for a couple of months, then you could cement the relationship as just 'friends' or she could start seeing you as more than a friend, tis a fine line youre walking,maybe back off a little (seeing as you dont say how much time your spending/how often you see her) and see if she makes the forward moves,
and no, i wouldnt post this sort of thing on a forum, id sort it out by myself,
life is after all, trial and error.

Uncanny, you just explained exactly what I've gone through the last few months. I only just realised it'll never work.

You should ask her if she's interested in a long term relationship (if that's what you want) and if she's not, dump the fucking bitch cause she's obviously with you just because you pay her stuff.

I've known quite a few attention whores like that and if you do love her, tell her and ask her if she has the same feelings towards you.

Like I said, most chicks just want the money until they find another wallet.
