Hi, since the first time i started playing q3a online i get somekind of 1-2 sec delay/lag after each shot from any gun,first i hear the gun shot and 1-2 secs later it fires the shot. I would really appreciate anykind of help, thanks.

Welcome to the wonderful world of network-lag.

Are you on 56k or dsl/cable? Post your network specs and we can help you tweak your connection a bit. But note, if the connection is the problem at it's roots (like 56k) you won't be able to fix the 'gun lag' completely, other than upgrading to a better connection.

And playing at servers nearer to you, network-wise speaking. A program like the All-Seeing Eye will let you sort servers by ping (the lower, the better).

Get InstaUnlagged, the delay will still happen however, wherever you shoot thats where the bullet will hit so it will be like you are playing with 0 ping.

I hope someone here gives you help on how to find unlagged servers, and the mod for I am too lazy haha

Enter the following cvars in the console (to open the console press the tilde key "~" while in-game)

/seta cl_maxpackets "30"
/seta cl_packetdup "1"
/seta snaps "20"
/seta rate "5500"

All-Seeing Eye - Game server browser

Unlagged isn't played much these days (unfortunately) so you might want to grab InstaUnlagged instead. Some servers run a 1.2 beta that you can't download from an official source. No biggy, pull down the console, type /cl_allowdownload 1 and connect to a server. It'll download the required files to your PC. Happy fragging!
