Having Difficulty

Im been having this problem. Whenever i try to enter the internet server through Quake 3 it locks up i can't do anything bu reboot my computer. Does anyone know what might be wrong plz let me know if u know ASAP Plz and ty.

Have you installed PB and the 1.32 point-release?

No and i dont know how to. And if my grandad finds out i installed anything on his computer he will flipping kill me.

if he hasnt found out about quake, he shouldnt notice these, so install this (its simple to install).
1.32 Point Release.
Punkbuster (or PB, should find it somewhere on there).
And you may aswell get the
All seeing eye for servers

If i unistall Quake 3 and reinstall it will it be upgraded???

No you have to do it yourself by installing the 1.32 point release. one post above yours is the link.

Install Point Release 1.32 and install PB. Then go to multiplayer and Make Punk Buster = Enable. Anything is got to work now !

In order to start playing, first you must update the game with the latest patch,
Point Release 1.32. This update includes up-to-date game fixes as well as
PunkBuster, Anti-Cheat software used to prevent online cheating.
In order to join PunkBuster enabled servers you must type "
/pb_cl_enable" in the console (press the tilde key: ~ on your keyboard to open the console while in-game). In addition, you should enter "
/pb_sleep 500" and "
/pb_system 1" in the console in order to reduce any slowdown or stuttering due to PunkBuster's scanning.
Afterwords, you should download
PBWEB.exe, which will allow you to manually update PunkBuster. Place the file in your "
Quake III Arena\pb" directory and launch the executable. It will take a few minutes for it to update, be patient.
Next, Download and install
All-Seeing Eye to browse for game servers. While not necessary, ASE is far superior to the in-game browser, therefore I suggest you use it.

Maybee your G/F has a firewall installed, and you need to allow an exception?
*edit* but *uckin* with his firewall might REALLY piss him off though
You could try asking him for help installing it?
