Hi!
Can Geforce3 make full use of 22 inch monitor on quake3, say, run soomthly like silk with max resolution(2000x1500 or so, which I don't remember)?
Of course with full quality, no texture compression and no picmip sort of.
Did anyone here try it actually?
Thank you.

yea, about that.. HELL NO!

seriosly, a 9800 or higher would have times that it would Chop out Due to the Rez alone.

And using the Full supported Rez is not making Full use of the damned thing.

why dont you simply run it at 1280X1024?

and also, yes i have tryed it with my 19' Trinatron, and it was to choppy for play.

hmmm,
Q3 UI hates the aspect ratio 5:4.

btw your 19' can handle 2048x1536?
I doubt it can keep higher refresh rate, which results in a choppieness.

yea, it would glaze it over a little, but its still noticeable.

AS for your logic thus far, its Flawed..

Maxing out the monitor's res does not infact "Make FUll use" of it at all,

And as for using Vsynk to fix the choppyness, Another NO, all the motion will still be jerky, the only thing that you would Eliminate is the picture Tearing.

anyway, this isent worth talking about anymore.

Also, yes.. my monitor supports up to 2048 x 1536 Max @ 85HZ

O.K. Mr.A.
Got it.

Well, I'm quite satisfied with 15' @ 640x480 as far as FPS goes.
Anyway 22' CRT would be my next display. :icon25:
Thank you for your replies.

Thank you for your replies.
dude, you do understand that if you run quake3 in 640x480 then the crt will expand the image so it fills the screen, right? you arent going to have a little sqaure of image in the centre and big black bars round the outside!

that only happens on shit old lcd/tft monitors..

run quake in whatever res/detail your gfx card can handle and let the monitor upsize the image.. just because you aint using the monitors max resolution doesnt mean youre not making use of the monitor!

O.K.
I was wrong.
Yesterday just noticed 640x480 on 15" looks blurry even with anitrosopic filtering as such.
Also I might be wrong about making full use of the potential of display.
Anyway it's not so much a serious matter.
Just thinking about being gorgeous. :icon34:

Oh, "Seemingly 1600x1200 on 17"" might be misleading.
Just wanted to say "Can you read the console message with that setting?" :P
