Pics On Lost Phone Lead Cops To Pot Stash

WOODLAND, Calif. -- The pictures on Zachary Hicks' missing cell phone cam are more than embarrassing, they've led to his arrest.

Police in Woodland say someone turned in Hicks' lost cell phone.

Investigators reported they found digital snapshots stored in the phone of piles of pot and cash.

Officers searched Hicks home and said they found drugs and money, and another camera phone.

Police said the new cell phone cam has pictures of dope and money, too.

they already do that -- i heard a story a while ago (here, i think) about a guy who made a short video on his pot plant and put it on the internet, police who saw it recognised the area and arrested him

those are ones that i recall only because toxic's was just two days or so ago, Stoner's was just a funny pic cuz the plant was so damn big, and yours was memorable for 3 reasons:

1) you're a f@g

2) you "found" them like some dirtbag digging through a dumpster

3) you had no idea what you were doing

AFAIK no one needs a warrant to look at a plant in your yard.

Police need a warrant to be searching on your property without permission.

I'm not too familiar with any of the laws concerning this, but I think there's a big difference between searching and looking. I don't think you need a warrant to closely inspect a plant that is probably clearly visible from a public roadway. The way they keep using the word "raided," you'd think they bashed in his front door and took him hostage... and WTF does Bush-bashing have to do with a plant, anyway? Who's making that connection?

It sounds to me like they were probably doing some fly-overs looking for marijuana, and they thought he had something.
