How start InstaUnlagged server with punkbuster on linux ?

There are a few people here that seem to have a good bit of knowladge with linux/quake, so if that doesn't work I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Download InstaUnlagged, put it in your $HOME/.q3a or in the global /usr/local/games/quake3/ directory, then start the dedicated server like this:

q3ded +set fs_game InstaUnlagged +set g_gametype 4 +map q3ctf4 +sv_pb_enable

PS: *don't* run a server as root.

The server start but if I want to play on, I have this message :
client_unknown_to_auth . Why ?

Do you have a good cd-key? Did you buy Q3 or downloaded it?

yes I have buy quake for windows .
now work with +sv_strictauth 0 .

Kip-cool: the problem probably is that you entered your cd-key in Instaunlagged too. The cd-key is saved in a file called q3key. That file should only be in Quake III Arena\baseq3 and not in mod folders like Quake III Arena\Instaunlagged. Delete q3key in that last folder. If you start up Instaunlagged it will ask for a cd-key but just press escape and don't enter it.

sv_strictauth 0 solves the problem too, but only for your own server. If you want to play at other Instaunlagged servers that have sv_strictauth 1, you need to delete q3key from the Instaunlagged folder.
