Quake3 max screen resolution on G5

I just got my dual G5 today, with OS X Tiger and ATI 850XT video card. Running Apple's 20" LCD monitor (1680 X 1050 at natural resolution).

I'm trying to get the higher screen resolution mode for Quake, but apparently I can only select 1024 X 768, all other options sends me to low 640 X 480 or something. Is it possible to get an higher resolution than 1024 X 768 in Quake3 under Tiger ?

Add this to your q3config.cfg in Quake III Arena > baseq3

seta r_customaspect "1"
seta r_customheight "1050"
seta r_customwidth "1680"

You should run it at your native resolution on an LCD. And with that CPU & GPU you should have no problem running a resolutioni that high.

Hey ! Thanks for the reply ! :-)

I tried your settings. Apparently, it's working for the height of 1050, but not for the width of 1680 (which is really the size of the 20" LCD). I get about 1280 width (approximately). Of course, I inspected the r_customwidth in all the config file. There's only one declaration, yours. Is this normal ?
