Why doesn't my Firefox play Flash/Quick Time/Windows Media/RealPlay/PDF media? I have checked about:plugins and all of the following are installed as plug-ins. Any help would be appreciated.

Get out, soapboy. Cooldown, are we talking about a *NIX or a Windows system?

I'd recommend giving the k-lite mega codec pack a try: http://www.codecguide.com/

(Selecing the 'playback only' profile in the install wizard is the preferred method, you get minimal stuff installed this way). But if you don't want all that stuff in there, then just seperate installs of qtime and real alternative should do the trick.

If after installing the above and it still dosen't work (or you just want to try a different method altogether): http://ksphere.free.fr/site/codecspackage.php

On the bottom where it says 'To stream in FF or Opera' - grab the little zip with the plugins and slap them in FF's folders.

If all else fails, uninstall all extensions, check if playback works then and reinstall them one by one, checking playback after each one. Will be time consuming for you though, with all those installed extensions.

PS: get out, soapboy.

That seems to have worked. Thanks :)

My Flash stopped working when i tried out the Flash 7 BETA, even rolling back wouldn't fix the problem. Tracked it down to AdBlock -- disabled that, and flash works again. I have to browse with ads now, though *grumble*
