Under the
CPMA mod, the cvar is
/cg_damageDraw "0". I'm not sure about VQ3 however, have you tried turning gibs and blood off?

I have no blood in my baseq3 or osp. Try making the values like these which are from my config. This one > 'seta com_blood "1" ' , you could also try '0' and see if it's any better. Just look for your q3config in your baseq3 folder and/or osp folder, go to the 'Edit' tab, then 'Find...', then type 'blood' and all the blood commands will come up as you keep clicking 'Find Next' Same with 'gib'. Then just change the numbers.
seta cg_gibs "0
seta com_blood "1"
seta cg_bloodMarks "0"
seta cg_bloodBody "0"
seta cg_bloodBody "0"
seta g_bloodBody "0"

Not possible in VQ3. It's possible to disable the damagedraw effect (bloodsplash over the screen) in CPMA, OSP and X-Battle and probably a few other mods.

Actually there is still some puffs of blood in baseq3 but hardly noticeable now. Why would you want blood busetibi? It all depends how much of an advantage you want in a competetive game. You play ctf right? I would have thought you'd want as much tweaking as possible. Picmip 5, brightskin enemy colours, enemy model, reduced blood, no gibs, vertex lighting, increased gamma, etc. These all help make it easier to see your enemy with less distraction from scenery texture, and blood and gibs which just get in the way.
