Installing a SATA drive

Finally ordered my first SATA drive (a 74gb Raptor). I can't afford 2 right now so I'm just going to install one and then wait for Vista when I have to reformat anyways.

Is there any certain BIOS options I need to set before hooking this up? If I have windows installed on my primary master IDE will it interfere with my SATA install?

Any tips or benchmarking apps I should check out to compare?

I didn't know you could have only 1 sata drive.
I just bought 2 80's myself.

put the fuckign thing in, it will detect.. and within your bios there is the IDE boot priority, select the rapter.

then make sure you install the SATA drivers When you install XP ( There was a disk that came with your mobo for this )

it will tell you, once you start the setup.
