yea, cause rpgs are all about the gfx and none about the role playing and story
elder scrolls always rocked. problem is that Morrowind was plagued by some rather unforgivable bugs (crashes to desktop, etc).
they say its going to be released near the end of the year, and that its for XBox2. thats pretty cool

for me, there's too much role playing and too much story. on the website they even talk about how it takes 100s of hours to complete the game. not my cup of tea. a ten minute game of quake does it for me.
but i'd buy it just so i could play around in a world with gfx like that

I loved Morrowind and apparently seem to be the only one who didn't have any technical issues with it (apart from crapworthy performance on a pretty decent machine of the time). I'll probably be giving this a try :icon14:

My only issue was the slow gameplay and everything in between that almost put me to sleep.
But this does look nice.

Yea, it required a lot of time and patience. Perhaps a bit too much.

i stopped playing for a week or so and never got into it again :S i was quite far in the main story line, bloodmoon and tribunal not included.
its so hard to backtrack a game this big :S pity, really, i really liked it :icon14:

they said that in this part, they'd make travelling "easier" by just clicking on the location of your choice - BG style.
im not sure if i like that. what i loved in morrowind was the fact that you had to travel, walking for days n nights, encountering tons of sidequests and tombs n shit.
it made "a far land" really feel far away and not just a dot on the edge of the map :icon14:

I gave up on Morrowind after the first 16 pages of non-stop reading.

I can't stand those generic fantasy D&D RPG's either. Big yawn, no matter how good they look.

I agree, the world seemed a lot more vibrant that way :icon25:
Personally, I thought Morrowind was a
blast- tempered only by those annoying crash-to-desktop bugs and the lack of any acknowledgement from the world that you've completed the main quest besides a slap on the back from Azora.
The sheer amount of things you could do and places you could discover was amazing, and I'm pretty sure they can keep the same feeling with Oblivion. Unlike some
other companies that developed games simultaneously for PC and Xbox, Bethseda kept Morrowind from seeming console-ized, so at least Oblivion won't be a guinea pig.

it would take too long to do anything in a single town though like that Baldora place, and it would be too easy to get lost in. I mean there is just too much to do and too many people to talk to.

Any news on Baldur's Gate 3 yet?
(And please spare me the NWN2 bullshit)

my copy of Morrowind, on the X-Box, is actually quite stable. I have not had the bugs and crashes that so many have

As far as I know, BG3 was in development a few years ago at Black Isle until Interplay canned it. Too bad, it was supposed to feature a darker storyline and allegedly in-depth moral choices

well from what I have heard it will randomly freeze on the X-Box. One friend said it would freeze every time he opened the world map. Apparently the GOTY edition for the X-Box did solve some issues from what I heard. So stop being a smart ass fucker :icon32:

BG3 was never in dev. thats a stupid intardnet rumour and wishful thinking. they revealed once that BG was supposed to be a trilogy but scrapped it when Wizards discontinued the Planescape campaign setting.
they also once mentioned they would love to do a game in the BG universe again, but thats no announcement. its the same when Blizzard said "they love the starcraft universe and would like to visit it agian one day" - theyre not saying StarCraft2 is in the works, only that its not impossible

"but scrapped it when Wizards discontinued the Planescape campaign setting. "
mind elaborating more on this? whats the planetscape cmapaign setting?

planescape. not planetscape.
its a campaign setting by wizards, like the Forgotten Realms is and the newly released Ebberon.
there was also a game made for it on the computer called PlaneScape Torment.
i guess the setting wasnt too popular (it was rather abstract, with the random teleporting n all) so they stopped creating more content and accessoires for it. e.g. let the whole thing die

Hmm, I remember reading the info in a post made by a BIS employee on a reputable board. I also read that there was supposed to be a Planescape: Torment sequel, but
that got cancelled when the Planescape setting was discontinued.

because the original idea was that the player would go to PlaneScape in the third game. but with it being discontinued n all, they ended it with Throne of Bhaal being in the Forgotten Realms

why dont they change the idea than?
