Replay current demo

Hi guys
I am q3 defragging and often watch demos to improve certain things in my play. Thus I'm looking for the command that lets me replay the currently playing demo.
Since I use seismovision, its no problem to replay it, when I use this extra programme. But when I play a demo out of q3/demos/folder, I
need the command to replay it. This would enable me to add it to my small demojog.cfg file that I exec everytime I'm looking at demos out of q3 defrag itself.
I found the way over ucguides.savagehelp into this forum. The help site is pretty good, this forum is active, so I thought I'll ask you guys.
Cheers!

I'll move this to Quake 3 Discussion for you. You'll probably get more help over there.

Do you mean fast forwards and rewind?

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but maybe give this demo cfg a try, it has a ton of useful commands in it:

I never thought it'd be hard to understand, but I'll try again:
1. I start Quake 3 Arena
2. I choose from the menu: Demos (click)
3. I start the a random demo (click)
4. The demo runs. Ok, now there is a particular scene at the beginning of the demo that I want to see again, thus: I interrupt the demo by pressing esc and exit. So I am thrown back to the menu, where I can choose 'Demos' (point 2).
So: I want to restart the demo while it runs. It's that simple. The very moment in the demo I am so interested in just passed, and I want to see it again. So I want to restart the demo immediately.
That is: press a key and have it run again.
To do this: I need a command to restart the demo while it is running. So my question is: what's the command to restart a demo, so I wouldn't have to go through the menus again.

i'm sure if you bind a function key to the bind that donny pasted it would work
/bind f5 "demo demoname"
then hit f5 during the demo.
thing is, it will still have to reload the map and all.

How about you just use timescale? Oh wait, but you can't rewind you can only fastforward.

Good idea with that F5 bind, but that would require me to bind the exact demoname and do a lot of cfg editing.
It's possible, I know it, cause Seismovision (a small handy tool to replay demos and change angles and stuff during the demowatching), actually CAN do it. They bound a key to the function "replay current demo". But I can not find the exact command in the cfg files of Seismo anywhere. It must have been hidden in the programme's code, which is why I came to this forum. :icon27:

does it reload map or is it able to replay demo straight away?

it does reload the map also.
but that wouldn't really matter.
I just don't want to head through the menus again...
So I am just looking for the command or string or var-command that replays it whenever I press a key while the demo runs.

Just copy the demo name from your demo's fold
load quake
type :
/demo *paste demo name here*
Just type that every time you wanna play it

If you dont mind that the map is loading again when you restart, it doesnt really matter.
Just do as carlos said:
/demo *demoname*
when you start the demo, and when you want it to restart you hit ~ followed by UPARROW followed by ENTER and you're there, it restarts. So thats 3 keys you have to hit. Big deal.
