Quake3World

Ever since I add another 1gb of ram( I have 2gb's now) My mouse will lock up for a second in games and make a ding dong noise.
Not sure if it's my gfx card or not. I have a 9800xt and the temps are around 67c, I thought that might be hot so I opened the side of the case and its sitting right next to my central ac vent cooling her down but it's still happening. All my drivers are up to date.

Any ideas?

i had that problem with a MS Explorer (3.0?). it was simply a loose connection from usb cable to mouse, but it was internally in the mouse itself. it would "connect" "disconnect" with that ding dong sound, but the nothing was showing up in the task bar. hopefully your problem is as simple as mine was.

Have you been tugging on the mouse cable (the side it connects to the mouse) lately?

I've lost the connection on my last intelli3.0 because of excessive tuggin. =o There's a way you can solder it back I think, I've seen a guide or two online for it.

me? nah, i just wound up replacing it with an mx510.

Well it hasen't do it yet today. Last night I reinstalled the mouse drivers for it so hopefully that will do it. As for tugging on it, nah no more then normal. It's a mx500 and still fairly new.

have you tryed a diffrent USB port?

yeppers, I have 6 usb's but it's same with all still. I need to find my adaptor to plug it into the ps/2 port and see if that works.
