Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Top pic. I see you holding your arm up to attract the cat with I'm guessing a small cat toy in your hand. You took the pic with a tablet? And you have a ceiling fan.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
yes, a 22megapixel full frame tablet that can do f1.2 and has a strobe attached
sorry too funny

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
What did you set the f-stop for those photos? Because it looks like you shot at f1.2 and sacrificed depth of field in some of those shots (the first one for instance).
Cute kittehs.

new telescope, first real picture with it. expect much improve over the next year when i get better with it

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
1st shot of jupiter with it, unedited straight-out-of-camera

this was with very low magnification. will get some killer shots in the future
when i first saw this in the eyepiece i said HOLYYYY SHITTTT... never seen it like this before! MOONS!
The lens was starting to collect dew about 1/3 of the way into viewing the moon, and then was pretty well dewed over when i started jupiter. heater element on the way to remedy the dew forming.

Nice shots andyman and a nice pussy.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
That's sweet... I have a small Bausch+Lomb bird watching telescope. I've tried peeping Jupiter with it a few times. I don't get much more than a small reddish dot, but somehow that feels more exciting than just looking directly at it with my eyes. Give us moar!!1andyman wrote:1st shot of jupiter with it, unedited straight-out-of-camera

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Friday night lugged the scope to my friends place about 45min north where it's a lot clearer than mine. Full moon was below the horizon while jupiter was out, but the clouds rolled in with the moon so this was all I could get. These are two separate images with different magnification and f-stops. To make these, I took a 30s avi video and then loaded it into a program that takes each frame as an image and aligns/processes them (about 1000 frames for the wide shot, 2000 for the close one)

Still, looking at it through the eyepieces looks a LOT better so if you get the chance to view it do it!
I was surprised at all the stars i could see in the telescope where there was black with just the eye. Everywhere I looked in the scope there were tons of stars and the viewing was really only 10% better than at home. Now I am very anxious to go back to south carolina where I took this picture with the 5D, and that is pretty much how it look with an eye too.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
those jupiter pics are awesome
it's amazing you can make out so much detail on something so far away with a modest-sized telescope
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
