Investing mutual funds

Post by redfella »

Any you marys know where to get information about investing in mutual funds (on the net)? I'm looking for a site that compares mutual funds, and give commentary regarding the various opportunities. A nice place with good forums would be dandy. I've been searching the net... can't find anything.

Actually, I lied. I barely even bothered to search the net. It was a gimmick to get you guys to cough up the goods... Which apparently didnt work. Either the investors out there didn't read this thread or q3w peeps don't invest. I highly suspect its the latter. No matter... more money for meh.

I found that http://www.marketwatch.com is rather great.

Thanks for the info. But too late. I just purchased 7000 bones worth of American Funds.

- The Growth Fund of America +15.40 [Average Lifetime]
- The Investment Company of America +12.86 [Average Lifetime]
- American Balanced Fund +12.09 [Average Lifetime]

Fairly aggressive.

Hello my friend.

I've been using this site ever since I got Internet.

http://www.marketwatch.com/news/default.asp?siteID=mktw

It's free to become a member and you can create a virtual
portfollio and see it in differents ways...charts, pie...compare
with other stocks. Get the latest news from your cie and how it can affect your portfollio. Even create an alert for when something
is happening, like, major change high/low trading stocks.

Hope this can help you.

Good Luck.

Thats who I have my 401k through. They do a good job.
Keep on top of it though. Depending on how the market is doing you may want
to switch things around a bit. Its your money don't be complacent.

Learn about DRIP's and invest in them but use the dividends to purchase more shares. Make sure it's setup where you can buy a portion of a share too so that you can own 1/10th or whatever.

Also make sure it's in your name, not street name. Buying through an agent they put it in theirs and you get the street name, google that to find out more about it. They take a cut, which sounds small but they aren't driving bmw's for nothing.

Once your dividends are returning enough to make a decent living retire.
