Read through the thread from the beginning. I find this election fascinating.

I think Corbyn is the one true chance at derailing the established system of capitalism, which has tipped so far in favour of the top that the bottom is now beginning to crumble away. You only need to walk around the streets of Manchester to see the sharp rise in homelessness in the last 5 years. Murdock and Co, with their hate campaign on Jezzer have further added fuel to the fire of the Tin Foil Hat brigade and the paranoia has now entered the mainstream. Anti-establishment round 3 as been ignited!

I think he's got a good shot. I hope he's half decent as a PM as he has been as the Challenger (it's a lot harder at the top), and I'm glad he's wearing a decent suit now. Do I think he's "The New Hope", the saviour to fix our nation... not completely. But I think he can be the catalyst of some much needed change which will result in an improved system for everyone.

I picture this whole thing as a really slow moving pendulum. We want the pendulum to rest in the middle, but it's been swinging towards the right for a long long time. It needs someone with some serious left thrust to bring it towards the centre again, and Corbyn and his rapid renationalisation plans is just that. He'll over shoot the mark and we'll end up overly left, and will need someone a little more right to correct that later, but he's what we need today. May will destroy everything if she's elected in.

I like Farron's comment at the start

Quote:
But Lib Dem leader Tim Farron did take a swipe at the Tory leader, saying: "Where do you think Theresa May is tonight?

"Take a look out your window. She might be out there sizing up your house to pay for your social care."

Farron's savage, what a great closing statement. "May didn't bother to show up, so why bother to listen to the Tories closing statement - get a cuppa ready, Bake Off's on next "

Lol same :olo:
Anyways, does this mean there's no mandate for a hard brexit anymore and a good deal will have to be struck?

Brexit is moving forward and there's no way to stop it, but the real trouble will be that any deals that can be made in Bruxelles will also have to be negotiated in the British parliament.

The extra funny thing is she's gonna need to rely on the Irish DUP who will want open borders with the EU :D

She's completely fucked herself, and I fucking love it :olo:

Scotland fucked us a bit though, wtf bros ?. I found myself rooting for the SNP up there.

UKIP absolute collapse n all, Wales did strong

What a joke. We've got a Conservative / DUP coalition.

The DUP have terrorist roots, hate Catholics, hate LGBT people, believe in making abortion illegal and deny climate change. :/ :/ :/

Erm, yes they do, it was in their manifesto. Well specifically open borders with S.Ireland, which would mean open border with the EU. They also campaigned for a soft Brexit with free trade.

They also deny climate change, oppose same sex marriage, along with abortion and are still made up of former terrorists, which ironically was something the Torys were bashing Corbyn about prior to the election :olo:

There's some talk of this coalition being in breach of the Good Friday Agreement n all, with Sinn Fein making some noises. Perfectly reasonable to say n all imo, how can the British government arbitrate NI talks when one side is forming part of the parliamentary majority ?.

To be fair Theresa May warned of coalition of chaos propped up by extremist terrorist sympathisers. She just didn't say she'd be leading it.
