Hi all , I've just purchased the 20 inch cinema display . Which looks
great , is fab for dvds and photo work . But at the moment sucks at q3
in comparison to my old crt which has unfortunately died on me.Does
anybody know how to make this baby sing at q3? is the refresh rate about 60hz?its just seems nowhere near as smooth as the old dead
lacie . I am on a G4 , and I'm wondering if this is the reason things
are not as they were. Is the new monitor forcing my graphics card
to work at 1680x1050 res no matter what I set the graphics too in q3?

Interesting. I would expect Q3 would just synchronize to 60, 75, 85, 100Hz or whatever refresh rate your monitor is at, but to have the thing get all choppy on you is odd.

that would have been my thoughts to canis. which is why i had v sync
on. the monitor is 60hz with vsync on best results were when fps was set to 60. But still not that great. Vsync off and fps 125[ img][/img]

oops !! anyway as I was saying at 125fps vsync off im back to how
smooth it was on crt. To be honest try q3 at 249 fps if the server
will let you it is definetly smoother than 125. Maybe I just have good
eye's but i can clearly see the difference when playing.

I have a dual 2.5GHz G5 with a Geforce6800 in it. I set the com_maxfps setting to 500 and cranked the graphics settings in Q3 to the max, and I'm constantly getting several hundred FPS, so basically FPS isnt an issue at all. ;)

ok , Im jealous canis ... but i just got widescreen to work loool
someone was having problems getting it to work in q3.

its

seta r_mode "-1"
seta customheight"1680"
seta customwidth "1050"

in the words of invidia , believe me its the way q3 should be played

: )
