Hmmm can anyone help with this problem please?
I am trying to verify disk permissions under os10.3.9 on a g4iMac

Disk Utility says it has lost connection with the disk management too, and can not continue; please quit and re-start.

The console crash log says:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE
-Unable to determine CPSProcess Serial Number pid:1139 Disk Management Tool.

anyone know what this means and how to correct it?

First thing, back up everything!

If a restart doesnt fix that, I have no idea. You might try rebooting from the OS X DVD and using the Disk Utility in the installer to check the disk.

I just found out its a bug between os10.3.9 and itunes 6.0.2 - MacFixIt have a few work arounds,
I deleted two receipts for iTunes and the verification process is working now.

Oh. I read it as your disk utility not being able to detect any drives.
