On a nicer note, i 100% do plan on getting it. Friday. Us UKers always get the shaft, and this time is the same. So, you have my money whether its good or bad, because its Quake... Stupid heh...

I completed FEAR, and wont play the MP. Yet I also bought that too, because it deserved my money.

The ending was probably the best ending to a first person game. Ever.

And this is me we are talking about here, my standards and all.

The way it played out was amazing, and the plot twists just blow you away.

Its one of the only games in recent years that got BETTER as you played it.

I went to BestBuy today and confirmed they did not have it. Spoke with someone there who checked the shipment, said it gets in tomorrow. So I said fuck it, and went to GameStop (had a BB gift certificate, so it would be cheaper there for me). GameStop didn't carry the SE. So I went back to BB and "preordered" the SE for tomorrow. :tear:

I joined about 5 Q4 chans in IRC today and quit 3 or 4 of em because of the bittorrent links. Some may buy it after, but I'm sure not all of them will. Thought to myself I don't belong here and hit the red cross...

Quake 4 owns the hell out of Doom 3.

I've got no complaints at all; other than I need a new video card. (800x600 at medium :tear: )

OMFG! I just walked all the way to EB, walk in, and realize im a fuckin' idoit. I left my pre order(paid in full) reciept here and I didn't have any ID on me. I have to go to class in a hour so now I gotta wait until tomorrow to get it. FUUUUCK!

Yea, my only complaint so far with SP is the darkness and flickering lights on the first level - even if they are supposed to be there...the damn things are going to give me a seizure here soon.

Hey tnf, while I was at the new game rack at BestBuy today, this guy came up and grabbed two copies of the pre-order box. He looked a lot like you. Found that a little funny. :icon26:

heh...

I have another complaint about the game...the mp maps, like the dm17 space one...just don't look as 'clean' as they did in q3. Lots of clutter in the textures it seems.

Oh, and how much woudl it have cost for some decent damn voice acting? God this shit is bad.
Doesn't affect gameplay obviously, but hell...its brutal.

My verdict: No complaints in single player. Multiplayer seems great as well. I just need to buy some new hardware :(

I am loving the SP game so far. Plenty of action, no monster closets, plenty of light (after the beginning part). Having a good old time with it.

I tried out MP for a quick game earlier, and it is fun as well. It's a lot chunkier than Q3, for lack of a better word, but I think that is all map design. I only played the one map, called Blood-something. It's just not as easy to see, and doesn't really flow.
But I thoroughly expect the map/mod community to come in and give us some good, community-oriented maps that flow well for DM. I haven't played CTF yet, but I'm dying to soon.

Back to the game now. :icon32:
