Well, my brother moved across town now so we can't play Q3 via LAN as often as we used to... so I'm wondering about how to set up a basic private online game instead. I've never set up an online game before so I need some information/pointers. The host will likely be his computer since he has the faster Internet connection.

Do we set up a dedicated server or can we just set up a server from the Q3 interface?

We need to set up a map rotation, possibly add some bots for large team games, password to keep everyone else out. How do I go about doing this?

Any other considerations that we have to factor in?

Thanks.
