Hey guys, I'm looking for "realistic present day" q3 maps, meaning, maps that occur in (somewhat) realistic settings like cities or a mall or desert, etc. Maps that occur in the real world somewhere around present day. So for example, I found a map called Pad Center, which takes place in a mall.

Basically any map where it would match to be running around with an AK-47 instead of a plasma gun. Or even in the ballpark of somewhat realistic and not your normal hell/space q3 map.

I'm not having much luck finding them since I haven't found a place that lists maps based on theme. Also I wondered if there might even be a map pack of maps like that.

thanks

Check out Reaction Quake 3, it comes with a ton of city maps. It's a cool mod btw. Not many servers online but great for LAN parties.

I should definitely check out RQ3 some time, thanks

But for now, specifically I am looking for maps that I can run under normal Q3. I assume that RQ3 maps only work with RQ3 (and/or they belong to RQ3 and it's illegal and or just wrong to rip them to run under normal Q3 right? Unless the RQ3 maps are somehow public maps that you're allowed to use in normal Q3?

Anyhow, I just did a bunch of searches at lvl, like "city", "town" etc and I think I found most of the "realistic" q3 maps that way.

I uploaded this map to Filefront so you can check it out..

I can't remember how long back but, ..::LvL used to have alpha/beta map testing section and I found this map. I don't think many people have it..as it never went final. It's pretty kickass....it's in the Middle-East, though I'm not too fond of the Billboards he has in it, but good luck finding a better "realistic" map than this. It also has a CTF set-up in it.

There's one called Xfort that springs to mind. I used to like that one.
This seems to be it:

(I'm not downloading it to check.)

Any Urban Terror map?
Incidentally, Urban Terror allows you to actually run through them with an AK-47.

'Run' is stretching it, Eraser. The pace in UT is pretty damn slow.

You think? I always thought UT's pace was pretty high. It even allows (limited) strafe jumping.
