I'll take 5.....

This thing looks dope:

About time home routers started getting a bit more featureful. Leaving a PC on overnight gets to be a real bite on the electricity bill.

Wrong account ry

I might look at getting one of these when I gets a job after graduation. If it consumes less power than my laptop in overnight hauls, then it's ideal.

yeah, saw this rss the other day. awesome idea, but i don't know Asus products well enough to trust its reliability.

here's more info for the uninformed:

They make great hardware but I don't know that they've ever built a complete device before.

I'm fairly confident of asus' abilities. The kind of architecture we're looking at here is more or less a motherboard with integrated peripherals (oxymoron?), something they've been churning out for years.

There's some criticism of the firmware, which will hopefully improve. Otherwise, looks great.

Can't justify a purchase right now though, even if it was shipping in the UK. Wishlist material.

I've never really liked all in one hardware. I seriously want my router to do nothing more than route, NAT, and possibly firewall.

Cool idea though.

aye, same - but a 'simple' low-power device to handle torrents and large downloads would be great, instead of having to leave a pc on all night - even if you didn't use it as a router.

ya, i think it's sexy, although for those that want to wait until N gets ratified (which should be 1st quarter 2007) they'd probably want to wait.
