easiest way to truncate an mp3?

Post by [xeno]Julios »

I have this track, and would like to chop off the last couple minutes.

Any easy way to do this in windows?

You could use NexEncode to convert it to .wav, cut it with Cool Edit Pro, and convert back to mp3.

Yeah that would do it, or he could do that with Nero Wave editor, or Audacity. :icon14:

But, by easy, I think me means being able to do that with just the mp3 file.

You know, so that it does not need to be compressed again. Because as we all know, quality is lost EVERYTIME someting goes from one format to another.

MP3Trim works great.
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Yeah with Audacity it's simple. Just open up the file, highlight the part you want to delete, then hit delete. I haven't tried the other programs mentioned in this thread, but Audacity is free and open-source and fits all my needs for doing minor editing to audio files. :icon14:

I meant in terms of quality being lost on the waveform with compression.

Analog is superior.
