The ultimate shave...

Post by tnf »

I'm a fanatic about a good shave and was quite pleased with this:

Been using a mach3 turbo for years, tried the shick quattro, but didn't like it, but this thing is smooth as silk.

I might have to get one just for that trimmer. I use a Mach3, and I'm always wishing it had something like that.

I really don't care if it has 1 or 1000 blades. If it cuts through my thick damn facial hair smoothly I'm happy.

So people still use razors? I've been using this for a while now and damn such a smooth and close shave. No more razor burn, or cuts and all you need is some water.

I'm still using a Mach 3, which I find works just fine. How much better is this supposed to be?

Though I like the idea of a razor on the back, something I would find useful.

I have been studying the subject of razors for quite a few years already because I have an innovation about one actually. I don't know where they will ended it...24 blades on a motor as the power train of a snowmobile.
Any way do you know how much$ it cost them in R&D just for the Mach 3 razor http://www.ipbookstore.com/books/big_idea.asp
And they fought against another major because it wanted to introduced a 4 blades version.

If you just want a resume...

Indeed, soon after the introduction of the revolutionary twin-blade system, scientists at Gillette's research lab in Reading, England, were already trying to figure out how to create the world's first triple-blade shaving system. The Mach 3 group, code-named the 22 Task Force, worked for five full years in concert with R&D to produce and orchestrate the introduction of the new product. The product was so secret that even Warren Buffet, one of Gillette's major shareholders, was not allowed to know anything about the 22 Task Force.

It took seven years and a whopping $750 million, but Gillette finally did it, introducing the Mach 3 razor in 1998. Did it work? In the United States alone, Mach 3 razors outsold Sensor four to one compared with Sensor's first six months on the market. Mach 3 blades generated $68 million in sales in its first six months; Sensor blades brought in just $20 million in its first six months.

you'd do well to start learning how to use shaving cream (glycerin based) and a shaving brush. Changes everything.

Also, I don't shave against grain ever.

I don't shave against the grain.

Most decent razors are 7-10 bucks, so I'm not sure where toxic is coming from, unless he doesn't do much shaving yet.

I've used a shaving cream and brush. Helped. I have extremely course facial hair, grows real fast. That being the case, I really care fuckall about whether or not the blade clogs (I rinse it frequently while shaving) or whether or not they dull fast - I always keep lots of spare blades.

I'll never get why people try to make arguments, etc., out of stuff like this...I didn't insult anyone's religions or razors, I just said I've found this one works quite well so far.
