Ok, I think I finally found the problem. It seems that Q3A expects sounds to be a 22kbps WAV file, but most of mine are 33 or even 135 for music files. Does this sound right ot anyone?

Oioi... Check your System setting in the control panel, as well as display settings. Make sure they are all set to use the graphics accelerator. And please check your spelling and cohenrency... It's hard to read what you write. Download the newest drivers for your hardware and install them- make SUR...

As far as I can tell, it's just Quake. The machine is used for DJing at clubs and parties, but that is normally through a USB connection. It gives me the same problem with the USB soundcard.

Make sure that your card is correctly seated, and that it's enabled in your OS. Since you just reinstalled the OS, I'd reccomend updating drivers. THey hsould be available @ your manufacturer's website. Google it.
