Re: holy shit you ppl are good
thats just it. its not in my prgrams folder. or anywhere else in my computer :( Well the easiest is to just do a "search" for quake3.exe? Did you download it from steam? Might be installed differently than the original q3. When u find the .exe file, just put the defrag folder into your Qu...

Re: Quake3 and Widescreen Resolutions?
The problem is the aspect ratio is f**ed!
It's better to set it to 1600*1200.

Re: Program to trim demos?
I haven't tried this myself, but if u playback a demo I believe you can record it while it playsback. Think I did this once when I was playing a demo through seismovion. Just bind a couple of your F-keys to record and stop record. Like this... seta F5 "autorecord" seta F4 "stoprecord&...

Vista 32bit gamma fix (nvidia)...
I noticed when I installed Vista the other day with the 169.35 drivers that Quake 3 has problem changing the gamma. I remember the same problem when I installed XP sometime back in 2001. Thankfully, id solved this in later patches. But again I see alot of people having these types of problems. I loo...

Re: knocked back to the main Q3 menu
Might be a map u don't have that the server is running. If it's running a different version of q3 it will be displayed when u enter the server, afaik.

Re: the old pb issue once more
not really, there are many people who posted their config's in the old days forgetting to remove their cd keys in the config. In most cases these guys don't play q3 anymore, or quit before pb was enabled. So, you can allways find a valid key that hasn't been registered by a pb server. I tried this o...

Re: US Qualifiers for ESWC 2008
What blows is that czm might not join:( But he did state that he'd go if fat did and zero4 didn't. Guess it was doomed from the start. Too bad, good news is that viju, ffsmasher and daler are going. Maybe mr nelson will change his mind, I'm having my fingers crossed. Anyways it's great q3 is back at...

Re: can't load open gl subsystem
It's actually a r_mode issue, it's in most cases set to a setting your monitor can't render. Open your q3config.cfg with Notepad and edit the r_mode setting to 4. That should solve your problem.

What has that got to do with anything?Doombrain wrote:you did buy the game, right?
As long as you have a valid cd-key, there shouldn't be a problem.
Ever heard of google.com?

quake 3 stutter when playing back demos. [SOLVED]
Well, this is about the same problem someone posted before, but my issue is not related to online play. It's allways when I playback demos or when playing in singleplayer. When I first encountered this problem, it came with intervals of 2 seconds. I noticed when the console was down that the console...

Hi, been away for a while now but I'm back now with a fully working machine. Sorry to say to most of u guys, it's NOT the mainboard nor is it the CPU as I feared. It all has to do with a conflict between the mainboard and my PCI soundcard. Ofcourse I disabled the built in soundcard in BIOS, still it...

Hi, as u say it works fine with a default cfg I would agree with eepberries and say there's the problem. I've done quite some bit of tweaking of my cfg over the years I've been playing, still alot of the commands I have no idea what's doing. I could look over your cfg if u'd let me. Though in my exp...

Thanks Foo for replying. The odd thing is I was running with 2 sticks of ram to begin with [2*1024MB], but for some reason 1 of them never showed up in bios. I found this odd, so I swaped the sticks and found out 1 of them most likely are dead. This mobo has 4 slots, 2 for DDR and another 2 for DDR2...
