Re: The last movie you saw

R.I.P.D. was the only movie in my entire live that brought me this close to leave the cinema because it was such a fucking mess. Noticeably, there was nothing to save this movie. Music, camera, acting, story, pace, FX, everything was awful. Foo summed it up well.

Thanks a lot, cityy and DooMer! Another hard YES for the avatars being on the left site, if possible, pretty please. Also I'd love to see [lvlshot] working again [[ as well as bbcode in signatures ]]. EDIT: I just realised that I can enable bbcode via the User Control Panel, awesome. Crossed that of...

J.A.C.K. Level Editor Just another creation kit

Just came across this in a youtube video by Civvie 11 talking about Perilous Warp : Short explanation taken from https://crystice.com/jack/: J.A.C.K. (formerly known as Jackhammer) is a brand new level editor for games with a quake-style BSP architecture. The title stands for “Just another creation ...

Re: Quake Live Mapping Thoughs - Mapping for Steam QL?

Either the Czech Republic isn't allowed to use PayPal (unlikely) or you use Tor or a VPN (or an IP used by many different devices like a dormitory IP) which is detected and therefore blocked by Paypal (more likely).

Steam supports a couple of playment methods, see this anchor and if you need further information, use this link, the latter one is the same page but starts at the top.

Re: Cityy tutorials?

Thanks for everyone's answers and thank you cityy for the insight as well. Must have been those online videos then I was thinking about.
Also thinking about the dark prospect of possibly never having a new cityy map again is quite disturbing. :tear:

Cityy tutorials?

Has cityy ever published any tutorials on mapping and level design? I thought he had done so but I could only find this.
If anyone knows (maybe our dear German himself) please enlighten let me.

Re: Anyone know of any huge quantity of map zips on the web?

You could go and use wget to batch download entire websites and in your case I'd go for the map files only which means going for ZIP, RAR and 7ZIP files specifically to get them all (at least on lvlworld). With this program you can get every map on lvlworld and ws.q3df.org yourself. But honestly, I ...

That looks awesome, although there are a few abbreviations I don't understand at all but I'm very intrigued to test it once it gets a release! Any specific reason to have "Patch9s" instead of "Patches"?

Re: Help with making particles, please (Q3A)

You can also try getting in contact with hipshot via PM and ask him what exact versions of GtkRadiant and Q3Map2 he had used for Rustgrad (he may have noted that in his readme.txt as well) and then try it with these. The other thing to perhaps solve the game crash issue is to make sure you're on the...

Re: Cap Selection seems broken

Thanks, I just wasn't sure anymore if it is okay to drag vertex points on a patch mesh all onto the same coordinate to create an inverted bevel for example, so I'd had preferred a genuinely working cap selection. Or I might have tried an "uncommon" curve, as you worded it. Won't go for 1.6...
