Re: Forums redesign?

This was the intended device when the site was designed: https://i.redd.it/zz16vp0oqy251.jpg I'd say that it's stood the test of time quite well.. Liking the phpBB upgrade (great job @Doomer and @raw). I'd say a lot of effort has gone into preserving the original charm of the site over the last 20+ ...

Jennell Jaquays has passed away

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Jennell Jaquays, a visionary creator of Quake3Arena and a dedicated supporter of our community. During her tenure at id Software, she advocated for the development and funding of this site, leaving an indelible mark on our shared passion. Jennell d...

Re: Gaming headsets

Hello all :)

I just swung by to see if people were still alive :D Due to lockdown, I've been gaming a bit recently, so it made me think of this place.

How is everyone?

Re: Gaming headsets

This is what else I have been looking at, high end audio wise: https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets ... olor=white So far these appear to be clear winners from nearly all of the reviews I have read and watched. I bought these recently, great audio, but buggy with PS4 rest mode (microphone drops ...

Re: Toronto...

Thanks man, I'll have a read tonight. Is there any good sites which list deals/promotions? I got a bunch of things to buy. I'm living downtown, though I'm in The Trump at the moment as I have no furniture until Tuesday. Got my work permit yesterday, so as officially Canadian as I can be for the next...

So... I've just moved to Canada! Toronto actually... I've got 1 question, was hoping you guys would be best placed to advise.... Rogers (Cable) or Bell (ADSL.. but only have FTTE, no FTTP yet, so will cap out at 50meg) In the UK I'd go with Cable but the Bell guy (ha!) told me that Rogers has conten...

Re: UK Snap Election

Read through the thread from the beginning. I find this election fascinating. I think Corbyn is the one true chance at derailing the established system of capitalism, which has tipped so far in favour of the top that the bottom is now beginning to crumble away. You only need to walk around the stree...

Re: Coffee Machines. Got one? Tell us about it please.

Funnily, I've just been through all this and ended up with this conclusion: Do you want easy or authentic? Easy, get a pod based one, but if you like cappuccino, get a separate milk foamer which foams proper milk. Powdered milk in the pods is nasty. Authentic, bean to cup, most likely Gaggia branded...

They have all the data which defines your social experiences... your friends lists, the locations you visit, the media you enjoy consuming. They have 3D maps of the world. They know what you like, they've never particularly cared about what you don't like.. but they know what keeps you happy, conten...

I think you need to surround your list with the list tag
  • something
  • something
  • something
Yeah, like that

Has been like that since forever btw
It would have been like that since phpBB, UBB would see the [*] and automatically wrap the [ list] around it ;)

Re: Diablo III

I'm tempted to say I'm not gonna do this... By this I mean RoS.

I beta'd the expansion pack and wasn't hugely impressed. And after the let down D3 was, I'm fearful of more buried time and further disappointment.

But... Then... I remember D2. Is it anywhere close?

Yea, $7.2bn for decades of mobile phone patents, plus distribution structure and international infrastructure... Seems a fair deal....

I like what they've done with Steam, it's an excellent content delivery platform... But Carmack at Valve just doesn't sit right. Besides, I think Valve is worth about $2bn themselves, what shocks me is now much FB is paying for stuff recently... It's like they're adding an extra zero on the end of e...
