So there is no fix... no worries I'll just use the other maps.

Z_Malloc: failed on allocation of 1947416 bytes from the main zone. on distant screams. I reinstalled the game to have a clean install. and set the hunkmegs to 512.

There is 6 gig ram in this machine. I changed the hunkmegs to 500 and now q3a wont run any map. changed it back and still will not run maps. Will try to get on it tonight and try some other things.

Like 500? or is there a limit?

Ok. Tried the hunkmegs to 192 and now get the error code at 1947416 from main zone. this number comes up everytime now when trying to run distant screams.

Should I change it to a higher number?

Can't play Distant screams?? try to start it and it gives me and error screen. Can I f12 the error screen to post it here?

Ok.. found out that I didn't have 1.32 installed. once I did that Team arena installed from the cd and seems to work fine.

I've searched the forums and haven't found anything mentioning this. I have quake 3 arena installed and it works fine. But when I try to install team arena it seems it's not compatable with 64 bit.

Any ideas?
