Re: SSD help (that means you bit)

I use Drive Image XML, free for personnal edition when I want to make a single backup of a complete drive (no need to reboot also!). Great for making backup of a hard drive and save it as a single file (or split it if you want). But in the case that I want to make a disk to disk image and repartitio...

Re: 20 Years of Wolfenstein 3D

The video is really interesting with Carmack's comments... Or maybe I am just too much of a geek. Anyway, I still remember the first day I played the shareware version and I was simply blown away by this game.

Re: Looking for a Quake 2 map!

It's a custom Quake 2 SP map or a MP map?

For SP maps you might wanna start looking here : http://quake2.com/bestq2maps/sp_archives.htm

or here :

Good luck in your research, you'll need it :P

Re: Quake 3 server autodownload

The autodownload from the native Quake3 binaries was never a good solution for downloading custom assets fast, in game. You might wanna take a look at ioquake3 for resolving that but it may ask for more setup and more time to install on the part of the users and the server itself.

in the entities.def of Gtkradiant? But you'll probably need to make a copy of that file and clean it up a little to only keep the entities list only .

Same setup here, never had a problem installing Q3 on Win7 x64. Error msg would maybe help us more help you. If I remember correctly, the autorun of the CD crashed, but you could start the setup.exe manually from it and it installed fine.

Re: error message when joining several servers!

Just by looking some infos of the first server in your list : protocol 69 qvm_version Lakitu7's QVM 5.5 (Oct 9 2011, 08:39:21) sv_dlURL http://blogwtf.com version tremulous 1.1.0_SVN1116 linux-x86_64 Jan 15 2012 So the first server in the list is not a Quake 3 server but a Tremulous server, I would ...

Re: q3 func_bobbing entities becoming invisible

Mmm I didn't knew about that keyword for shader. It looks really interesting but not sure about using it in this case, since all my func_bobbing entities in this case are blocks that creates a pathway for the player to move on. I want them to bob for the player to be affected by it. With the keyword...

Re: q3 func_bobbing entities becoming invisible

Thx for the advice but there is no target_location or origin brush for any of my func_bobbing entities in my map. All of the func_bobbing that I created prior to that specific batch are all working perfectly - i.e. are not invisible. I'll make a test by deleting one of the func_bobbing to simply re-...

q3 func_bobbing entities becoming invisible

I just met this weird behavior with the map I am currently working on. I am in the process of transforming a lot of my brushes into entities of func_bobbing. I transformed the brushes by batch of about 10 into func_bobbing, set all their settings individually, compile the map into normal mode, load ...

DDOS attack with ioquake3 server

Lately I noticed some unusual traffic behavior coming from my freebsd server that is running ioquake3 (a public ioquake3 server). I shut it down a couple of days ago with the intention of looking at it later in more details to have an idea of what was going on. I started looking at it today and just...
