Re: Q3map2 x64 source code
The mod I've built uses much higher values on many things like number of surfaces, etc. Which is why I need the 64bit solution. If it wasn't for that I would just use a regular q3map2 64bit exe. The project is completely halted until I can get past this.

Re: Q3map2 x64 source code
Many people have said "oh you just make a 64 bit build, its easy" but that isn't true. There is a 64bit q3map2 out there, but whoever compiled it never released the source code for it, which is why I was asking for the 64bit q3map2 solution. There are also a many other 64bit q3map2s for th...

Re: Q3map2 x64 source code
The code was q3map2 original source code. I can compile a 32 bit exe without any issues but I just can't get it to compile a 64 bit version. That's why I was asking if someone could post a file of the q3map2 source with a solution file that will compile a 64 bit version.

Re: Q3map2 x64 source code
I'm resurrecting this topic because I've come back to this project and I'm still stuck at the same problem. I stopped working on the project because of Q3map2's 32bit limitations on compile, once it goes over 3gig it crashes, but this is essential for big complex maps. A 64bit compiler is needed and...

Re: Bustacap is available
seremtan, yeah the school maps are pretty flat but they are recreations of real schools so... you can climb onto the buildings though. But maps like cdc, docks, and some of the housing maps you can get 6 or so stories up on some of them. On the housing maps you can go into some of the houses or clim...

And Doombrain, thanks for being such a nice person. You work on something for four years and then see how comments like yours feel like.

Bustacap is available
http://www.bustacap.vastserve.com Since Bustacap is new to the public and it has zero advertisement there won't be lots of people to play against so for now I'm guessing you'll pretty much only be able to play against bots or friends by connecting to their server. This is a beta version. It's pretty...

Help getting Bustacap out
I want to just get Bustacap out and played by people. http://www.bustacap.vastserve.com I don't know which would be easier/better though, going with or without Steam Greenlight? Since Bustacap is a standalone game and not a Q3 mod, I'm not sure how people will be able to browse for servers for it in...

using an alternate master server list for ingame browser
I'm trying to wrap up work on Bustacap to just get it out as a beta. What steps are involved to use an alternate master server list? Like, would I need a server that keeps the list and then direct the game to go there instead? Or is it as simple as keeping a file on a website that is an updated list...

Re: A new indie game built off the Q3 engine
I just posted Bustacap on Steam at: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =888794439 If you have any love for the project it should go there now. I'm just figuring out how greenlight works and I'm looking to just release it now as a beta or whatever term you'd use for possibly dysfunctional un...

looking for some help with a new indie game coming out
I was advised to post a thread in here too so pardon me if it feels like spam. The game is called Bustacap. It's a toon shooter built off the Q3 engine. It takes place during the second American Civil War. It's meant to be humorous, not serious, although there are many realistic aspects about it lik...

Re: A new indie game built off the Q3 engine
I appreciate it. After considering the little traffic it gets and its rate of funding, I don't think it'll make the goal in time. Funny thing is that I planned on using some of the money to pay some people I've met in these forums to do some work. The money would be coming right back to the quake3wo...

A new indie game built off the Q3 engine
It's called Bustacap. It's a toon shooter built off the Q3 engine. It takes place during the second American Civil War. It's meant to be humorous, not serious, although there are many realistic aspects about it like real bullet behavior. I've been working on this game full time for four years. I've ...

Re: Ceating a vertex buffer object in Q3
Yes. Its the process of storing all the static verts on the video card so it doesn't have to send it each frame. Saves on CPU bigtime. Most modern games do this always but idtech3 didn't. There are only a couple of Q3 mods out there that did it successfully. I wish I could get in touch with someone ...

Re: Berserker@Quake3 source?
I've been checking the Qio engine out since I woke up this morni... evening. Heh. It looks cool but young. Any test weapons able to be used? Is there a good map that has something to shoot at? I'm guessing people will have to recompile their maps with a new q3map2? And your project sounds good. Any ...

Re: Berserker@Quake3 source?
Bots are gone, oh no! Why's everyone always got to mess with the Q3 bot? It's a good bot. It's like the meeting went like this: "Ok so we want realtime shadows, and an updated rendering system, and physics, and... oh and no bots." Dang. Wait, Xreal had bots didn't it? And I'm guessing by t...
