Re: New Textures
The problem with games these days, like Champions, is they're not made to last. They're not mod friendly. They're too closed off to the community. Nobody can make maps or mods. All you can do is play the game the way they allow you to. That's it. That's ultimately why games these days have a couple ...

Re: Lost all my Radiant stuff in hard drive death
Yeah it's toast. Completely dead. No power to the drive at all. It's ok though. Alot of the stuff i lost was crappy skins I made years ago. I'm going to do new stuff with the extra Photoshop knowledge i have now.

Lost all my Radiant stuff in hard drive death
My hard drive died and I lost about 10 years worth of radiant maps I'd worked on (most were just test maps)
I did however lose a couple of finished maps I made, one of which I can't find online anywhere anymore. AADM1. Does anyone still have it? I know some of you have archives of maps, lol.

Re: How do you guys plan your future maps?
Thank you for making this topic, as this is something I struggle with the most when it comes to making maps. Thinking of the initial layout is by far my weakest skill when it comes to maps. I have all the knowledge and skill to build it, I just lack ideas and struggle really hard to come up with a c...

Link in original post updated for the Quake 4 ammobox reskin. I think i'm pretty happy with this now, so i'm gonna call it finished. I'll update the others in the coming days.

Re: broken specular maps in ioquake3
So I did a test using Spearmint (modified version of ioquake3) since I can't find any previous versions of ioquake3, and noticed that version 0.3 was when this "change" was introduced, although it doesn't seem to be documented at all. This is Spearmint v0.2: https://s31.postimg.cc/4yityjsa...

broken specular maps in ioquake3
Just updated to the latest ioquake3 (I was using a build from 2015) and all my specular maps are broken. See images: Specular maps disabled: https://s31.postimg.cc/6bpslx5vf/shot0001.png Specular maps enabled: https://s31.postimg.cc/badb0fet7/shot0000.png Anyone know whats causing this? It looks as ...

Re: Q4 texture pack for Q3
ioquake3 isnt buggy at all for me, not sure what version you guys are using...
CZ - I know Quake 3 does not support mtr, I never said it did. ioquake3 does though, and I still think theres no benefit to sticking with vanilla Quake 3.

Re: Q4 texture pack for Q3
Everyone should use ioquake3 since theres literally no drawbacks to using it. Also CZghost, normalmaps are different to lightmaps. q3map2 doesn't handle normalmaps. They are done purely through material (.mtr) files

This is a good tutorial, but not really necessary since ioquake3 supports normal/specular maps.

Re: Collection of all my Quake 3 mods
Not sure why theres any missing textures... I tried it with both standard Quake 3 and ioquake3 and didn't notice any problems. Some stuff is directly from Quake Arena Arcade/Quake4, so it might not be legal, which is why I was hesitant at first to post it, but I figured if it wasn't allowed, then a ...

That looks about normal to me. Those textures are not very high res, so they wont look amazing in game.

Re: What's better: *.jpg or *.tga?
Hmm thats a really handy way to reduce the filesize of a map. I still question weather its worth it since it takes seconds to download maps these days, but I guess if its a quick and simple process, then why not.
