Re: Any suggestions on inexpensively hosting from behind an ISP
Ohhh really.... So you're internally NAT'd behind their gateway? that's a little messed up... I think the only way around that would be to VPN tunnel and connect via that.... but even then its a little tough. That's it exactly, unfortunately. I've got limited experience with tunneling through one o...

Re: Any suggestions on inexpensively hosting from behind an ISP
Thanks amidy,
It's been a long time since I used DDNS, but I don't think that will work. The issue isn't that I have a dynamic IP, it's that I share the same external IP with hundreds/thousands of other people due to the ISP's NAT'ed firewall.

Any suggestions on inexpensively hosting from behind an ISP
Hi there folks! I live in the sticks and it took me ten years to get something other than dial-up or sat. I finally got fiber which I will never speak poorly of but my ISP has us behind a NAT, so I don't have an IP to call my own. I've not been able to host a Q3 server for years because of that. I'm...

Re: Anyone know of any huge quantity of map zips on the web?
Thanks a bunch theft. I was actually looking for zips of bunches of files so I didn't have to browse through each and download them separately. I did manage to find a link to lvlworld's archive as it was in 2013, so that's probably the best I'm going to do. I doubt it will be missing much.

Anyone know of any huge quantity of map zips on the web?
Heya folks! I seem to have misplaced my huge archive of custom maps which makes me a sad panda, indeed :( Does anyone have any links/torrents/zips that contains large quantities of the custom maps that have been created over the years? I think I remember one absolutely massive zip with hundreds in i...

Linux 1.32 point release?
Hi there everyone, Like the tool that I am, I upgraded my OS without saving Q3( :( ). ID's ftp download site has the .run linux PR files that I need, but it's failing the checksum. Does anyone know where a .tar.gz 1.32 point release can be found for download? I'd greatly appreciate it :) thanks, json

Re: Moved Q3 server behind a router. Need help with forwarded p
Hi there misantropia and thanks very much for the reply. I don't have PB installed, but when I tested the server initially(using my outside IP from inside the local network), it wouldn't connect , instead hanging while awaiting snapshot. I then tried connecting inside the network and it worked, down...

Re: Moved Q3 server behind a router. Need help with forwarded p
It doesn't seem I can edit my post but I found this thread on this very site telling me to forward 27950 on, so I changed my port forwarding to 27950-27970. Does this cover me?

Moved Q3 server behind a router. Need help with forwarded p
Hi there everyone, First off: Quake 3(1.32) running OSP 1.03(a). My q3 servers are no longer on the gateway computer but now connect to the outside world through a router. It's been so long since I've had a setup like this, that I've forgotten the deal with port forwarding. I've already set port 279...

Two servers with two different spskills?
Hi there guys, My daughter has taken an interest in the game, but the botlevel on my server is less than inviting for someone who's never played an fps before. I'm running Q3 with OSP. I tried starting up a second server and manually setting via console(seta spskill 1), but it didn't work. The spski...

Re: Transferred Q3 to another box, server now stalls on startup
Hi there Amidy and thanks very much for the reply. I forgot that the server doesn't send reply notifications, and was sitting on my thumbs wondering why nobody replied :) While waiting for a reply that was already there, I went ahead and did a fresh install of Q3 and OSP and half-assedly made my pro...

I know I'm late to the party on this, but "wow" to hipshot: [lvlshot]http://zfight.com/misc/images/maps/m13/shot0978.jpg[/lvlshot] That looks fantastic. That would go on the server faster than castor oil through a guy wearing a colostomy bag. I hope to catch the final, if it becomes availa...

Woops about the Amarok props. A lot of guys got their panties in a bind over the release of 2.0, it's bugs and missing features, but those guys were already freaking out about KDE 4.x, the dolphin file manager and big icons

Re: got sick of vista, installed ubuntu tonight
I can't believe nobody mentioned Amarok for a media manager. It's the only app that I still miss from my years on a linux box. I use songbird now as an alternative, but don't like it quite as much.

Transferred Q3 to another box, server now stalls on startup
Hi there guys, I'm having a problem with a Q3 install that I moved from my old server box to a new one. I've updated the server paths for the .bat and .config files, but I've obviously missed something. The server starts up and it loads the maps and bots and just stops. No error shows, it just stops...

Any skin & model sites that are still hanging on?
Hi there guys,
Polycount's going on year four of their remodel and I'm wondering if there's any other skin/model sites that still have content? All of the podunk personal model sites I'm finding are long gone or only have a couple models for download.
thanks,
