I find the distance figures fascinating to comprehend. The dark galaxy is 50 million light years away. That's 50 million x 6 trillion miles = fucking hell.
How they find a tape measure that long I'll never know.

No, you wouldn't be able to see it. It's called dark matter because it doesn't emit light. As far as I know, you'd be able to feel it if it were right in front of you but I'm not certain about that. btw dark matter and dark energy supposedly makes up about 95% of the universe.

The split goes this way (if I recall):
~5% baryonic matter
~30% dark matter
~65% dark energy
