I entered the
Rojakpot Forums
contest by following a link from TheForumz . About an hour of my time and two weeks later I'm the proud owner of a Seagate barracuda 400GB SATA drive retail $355.00.

Now they got a new contest and for some Mushkin memory if anyone is interrested head over and Join up. Contest Starts tomorrow and runs for 1 week. I don't need the memory so I figured I would share this time :icon31:

Grand Prize = 512MB Mushkin PC4000 Dual Pack

I tried theforumz after Q3W went down. Found out it was shit and one guy, who IIRC was the owner, was a massive dick.

Now I see why you didn't like it there, not the plce for those with bad attitudes. Although can't seem to figure out how Gut's managed to get you so upset with that one past you made

It served it's purpose and helped some lost members find raw's place

I registered at theforumz once just to see what it was like

I only made 5 posts and never made another post there again because

1) its fucking boring

and

2) their server is slower than a three-toed sloth taking a shit

its not that hard. As long as your mobo will let you use a HDD past the 137GB barrier, if not there are patches, then there should be no issue.

I should be getting the drive next week. I'm sticking it in the Media Center PC (more pics) I built. I have an 80 gig and a 250 in there now. I'm just going to partition it so that I have 80 for the OS, music and Photos and the rest will be for TV recording. I record between 60 - 90 shows a week. so it will come in handy :D

How do you get the time to watch all those TV-shows?

Best part about the Media Center PC is the skip buttons

Skip ahead is 30 seconds (usually the length on 1 commercial)
Skip back is 5 seconds (in-case I go too far)

I can skip all the commercials in about 3 seconds

a 1 hour show is only about 35 - 38 minutes a 1/2 hour is about 18 - 20 minutes without commercials. Then there are always shows we have seen already which we just delete.

After work, dinner and a walk my wife and I hit the couch and watch some TV. We eventually get through them all... eventually. Especially when a series goes into season we have watched already.

Yup nicest looking HTPC case IMO, but not the quietest. For a $255.00 HTPC case this thing should not make a sound a all :icon33:

It comes with a noisey ass PSU and fans and no Hard drive dampening. It's been a long painfull road quieting this MOFO down but I am almost done.
  • 1 silenx 8 dba fan
  • 1 silenx 12 dba fan
  • 1 silenx < 14 dba iXtrema Micro on order
  • 1 Zalman 0 dba northbridge heatsync
  • 1 Zalman 0 dba silent GPU cooler
  • 1 Zalman Silent CPU Cooler
  • Fan control software (adjusts fan speed according to case and CPU temp)
  • All panels now covered with sound dampening material

I'm hoping to get this thing completely silen when I am through. Right now you can barely hear it from the couch and only when it's a quiet part of the movie/TV show.

Watch him be so disappointed when he finds they made a typo, and it's only 40GB as opposed to 400GB. :p
