/seta bind KEY name Casedogg

seta will write it to your config for future use. Other wise youd have to type it every time your loaded it.

rename it to autoexec.cfg and it should never get over written. (If you change the settings in q3config it will still use whats in autoexec)

I've only ever typed 'bind x name amazingperson' and it's saved. I don't have to type it again.

I stand corrected about the seta thing, I guess I do it out of habit.
Case are you manually writing stuff to your config, if so just close it and it will prompt you to save.

go to C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\baseq3

or wherever your q3 folder is

find q3config.cfg and open it with a text document

thats your config

just save that file and put it back in that q3 folder whenever you re install

maybe ?

yes cuz,

it u make changes to a .cfg now and u format, just copy ur old .cfg back to the old q3a/baseq folder and ur all set..

unless u change ur GFX card, settings may vary..

save a copy in both folders. Or just copy your baseq3 config to your excessive folder/all mod folders.

case,
What I did was highlight all the text in my baseq3 config, baseq3 autoexec, osp config and osp autoexec config. Then I copied and pasted them into 4 separate notepad documents. I saved each one as backup baseq3.cfg, backup osp config, etc. Whenever anything got messed up, I simply opened up the relevant backup and copied and pasted everything over my current messed up config. So do that and stick em on a floppy disc.

save the one in baseq3, then right click on the Excessive folder and click "delete".
