Cool to see some pics of your trip.

The wife was looking over my shoulder trying to
find any hippos. I had to tell her you weren't in
any area with hippos. Hehehe. ;)

in the first pic every single rock has uranium but way more in the grayish granite.after awhile i could tell without instruments the uranium content just by colour and texture.

everyone is freindlier for sure but on the other hand they are the rudest people in the world.
they drive like assholes, butt in lines and generally think their shit don't stink .. i'm speaking about the Afrikans.
the "blacks" are very nice but anyone white is considered rich so
most have a motive for being nice.
beggers are a dime a dozen .. 1000's of times i've had people engage me in conversation and i'm sitting there waiting for their sales pitch for my hard earned money and they never disappoint.

once i met a really really hard worker standing at the side of the road ,sweating their balls off and thirsty working for peanuts.
i gave him $2000 not because he asked ,he actually deserved my hard earned money to feed his family.
btw $2000 is 3 months wages for a poor sheppard.
the average worker makes $678 nam dollars a month

2000 namibian dollars ..3/4 of a days wage for me

btw we pay then 150 a day and they are very very happy

I found teh same in South Africa - the poor were very very poor, and unashamed to ask - but they were nice about it, not ferral - teh white south africans, I had to make myself like them - not manly were easy to get along with.

I have a brother whos a math geek and spent a year or so wandering around outback aus doing calculations on oil and mineral discoveries. He loved it.

So you dropped a fair bit of coin there.

Are uranium mines more valuable than gold, diamond or platinum mines generally (*ignorance shows*)?

to be honest i'm just as ignorant.

all i know that i the mining game uranium is the
mineral du jour.
uranium is sought after because in a few years we won't be able to
supply demand , that's why the big push for uranium.
nuclear reactors will be springing up all over the world.

in the future Thorium reactors will be fuelling new designed reactors.

there is WAY more thorium then uranium.

should just go to the bank and tell them that you wanna put some money in stocks and they'll sort you all out. i recently went to my bank asking for help on some debt consolidation and less than 15 minutes late i've got a whole plan laid out that's gonna save me a buttload of cash.

p.s. any chance on me getting some of that ginger cream? :paranoid:

I've got two jars of thorium nitrate at school, as well as a couple decent samples of uranium ore. I like holding the geiger counter next to them and watching the students reactions to the shitload of clicks it makes. They get scared, thinking they might stumble across those in their backyards, etc., and not know. Of course I don't let them leave the room thinking that this is really a possibility, but its always interesting to see people's initial reaction when something radioactive is set at the front of the room. Some kids actually do expect radioactive stuff to be glowing.

I left one of the samples in my front pocket the other day for about 8 hours. Hopefully I don't grow a third testicle. :paranoid:

I'm hoping I can educate them enough to realize that there are rational and irrational fears...and that most, but not all, of the fears people have about nuclear power fall into that irrational category.

Too bad you don't live around here ax...you'd be a great guest speaker for my chem class.

i took showers from the brakish water supplied from highest grade uranium ore zone and still the water was within safe limits.

in canada the uranium is of such high grade robots are used to mine it .. high grade uranium is a relevent term, high grade for Africa.
this deposit was found 30 years ago and proved uneconomic , now it make sense to mine it and now the deposit has Perhaps doubled in size thanks to Teh Joly :)
i know very little about chem.. i just know how to find stuff.
1 gram of uranium = 50 barrels of oil "so i'm told somehow"

tnf hope my pm didn't confuse you about geophysics
