You can't disable SLI and keep Surround. It would also cut my FPS from 110 to 30.

I've been trying my hand at RWD - having always been really shite at it. The BMW felt a bit twitchy, but the Cossy, wow! This thing is crazy fun to drive - rounding bends on the throttle at opposite lock may not be the fastest, but fuck is it not half fun :owned:

I'm a bit surprised you chose RWD for the event, I find it very hard. I'll give it a try though.

They've had more than a few pro's play the game (and dominate the daily leaderboards). There's vids about, but no opinion piece afaik. The game has managed to convert the hardest of cored Richard Burns fans though, so that says something how it fares as a simulation, for those who take that element seriously.

Bytheby - I done made a Q3W League :owned:

https://www.dirtgame.com/leagues/league/21544/q3w-rally

Sign on up.
- Starting off easy with 70's class in Finland.
- 5 Stages.
- 2 Service areas.
- Stages run though morning, afternoon, night-time, to morning rain.
- No restarts. No do-overs. Practice if you like in a custom run, but once on track you've got one shot at it.
- There's 1 week to run all 5 stages. Post if you sign up and I'll authorise ya.

Bring it slags >:E

Yesssss, great idea. I'm in, just sent my join request.

It was on sale 33% off as part of Codemasters sale until Halloween sale started yesterday. Otherwise its price increases by $2-5 USD with each update, so it's only gonna keep on getting more expensive. I bought it 15% off a month ago, no regrets. Best rally racing game I've ever played.

Wow, the price got jacked up, it used to be ~$35 USD, it's now $50.

Aye. First time I've been genuinely glad to have purchased in early access. It started off rough, but it's come along in veritable leaps and bounds. £18 odd to start off, which had Wales, Greece and Cunty Marlo. Then Pikes Peak hillclimb was added + cars. Then 'Tarmac Terrors' in Germany + more cars. Rally Cross and multiplayer circuit racing + more cars. Finland was the last patch + moar cars, next we have the 'Modern Masters' car additions and the Winter Wonderland update before release.

I expect the price will top out at £35.99, to £39.99 with the winter update. Then 33% off over xmas.
Worth watching Humble and GMG for deals/vouchers too.

Honestly I don't mind spending an extra $15 for DiRT Rally. What's that come out to, like 2-3 pints? Man, the amount of time and learning and realization I had this week preparing for my local league's Pike's Peak event alone makes up for it and then some.

Sure, you can wait and buy it cheaper later on, maybe months later. Thing is that you'll wish that used that time to practice. This game is insane.

Memphis, the current event is restricted to 1960's cars?

Nah, it's boring. They're too slow, takes too long to do a stage.

Let's do AWD, please.

Will go 4WD for the next stages. It's only 4 short stages and a long one. Get to bouncing.

Will do, tonight or tomorrow

No way! Practice first, then when you're competing it's the real deal. No restarts, no retries. This is rally.

I'm unsure btw, if leagues require ownership of cars to partake. Intended Group B next, but let me know if you don't have any cars in that class.

No you don't need to own the cars.

Awsome.

Also, what's preferred, out of an event in one location, or stages from multiple locations for a mix of surfaces?

Same location, different stages IMO. Also Pikes Peak :D

Just finished all of the stages in Event 1. I think I won?

By that last stage, I think my engine was losing power. Probably safer that way. :P

Yep, you won! Good job :)

Our times are pretty close together for a 30 minute event. Shouldn't have stopped to repair that puncture

Haha, I think that did you in! By the end of the 2nd stage you were wayyyyy quicker than me. Then again, my 1st stage did not go so well. :D

Memph and I are fairly closely matched. These group A cars are way more challenging, so much more room for error, should get interesting.

And yes, more people need to join us!!!

EDIT: Also, it's weird that the league waits until the event time runs out to assign points, which is why I wasn't sure if I won. I saw the times, but no points.

I'm playing with wheel, manual sequential, no assists. You can actually filter the league standings by wheel/controller and assists on/off.

I've got a wheels and pedals. The only assist I'm using is ABS, everything else is off.

Sounds good, I'll create one once this season is done. Are you OK with a quick one ending Saturday? Germany R4, 3 to 5 stages?
