Charlie Wilson's War

I'm a little late, but it was pretty decent.

Watchmen = 8.5/10 - Nicely done. Never read the comic so I have no reason to be disappointed. Eye-candy with substance. The Nixon makeup was hilarious.

I just watched this movie. Very enjoyable and very dark. Didn't have a clue what it was all about until later on in the film and had never heard of the original dc comic characters. Interesting conclusion to the story. Totally agree about nixon's makeup, lol, it was a bit like something avid merrion from bo selecta would do. 8/10.

Irreversible 8/10

Its an apt title.... cuz you will never get that Fucking Brutal rape scene out of your head.

Kinda wish I never saw it.

Actually it was the brutal face-smash-with-a-fire-extinguisher scene that most people can't get out of their heads.

yah.. that was brutal. But that was in the first 5 min of the film. It is easily forgotten after the the 10 minute... brutal, screaming rape scene in the tunnel, and after he's done raping her ass... he brutally punches the fuck out of her face.

TBH I forgot about the fire extinguisher scene entirely until you reminded me. I doubt most people found that scene as profound as the rape scene.

But you did... so I guess we agree to disagree.

I think the gay sex dungeon was equally as disturbing in its own right.

More disturbing than the raped-by-an-object scene in Monster?

Because that was pretty fucked up.

Irreversible makes monster look like a comedy.

Crank - High Voltage = 8/10 - Not as "fresh" as the first one but you definitely get your money's worth for action/comedy flicks.

After seeing this I don't think you can really judge it as a comedy, as its clearly not a comedy. However, it doesn't follow the traditional beginning, middle, end scenario that nearly every movie conforms to. This makes the movie seem like almost a 2 part story, which I don't think was really tied together very well.

Beowulf - 8/10
Surprisingly good. Animation pretending to be live action is top notch but a lot of the faces look weird. I give the movie a lot of credit for successfully achieving something *new*

Pirates of the Caribbean: at worlds end - 2/10
Movie is terrible, first movie in a long time I had to shut off half way through because it was just awful. But not awful in a fun 'hey lets joke around and make fun of this terrible movie' sort of way.
It only gets 2 points because the 'short-film inside the film' with Johnny Depp in his Davy Jones's locker hallucination is excellent.

The Hangover - 7/10

Good comedy, though I do think my sense of humour is changing as I am quite sure that a few years ago I would have laughed loads at it

Watchmen - 8/10

Really well made adaptation of the novel. The ending was actually even better because it's more concise - that artificial alien thing in the novel was a bit silly.

Oh, and Rorschach is just awesome.

G.I. Joe - 3/10

It's a run of the mill idiotic action movie cashing in on the recent cartoon/comic movie trend. I even went into this one without the usual hangups of being a fan of the original medium (e.g. big X-Men comic fan, hated the movies). Some of the action sequences were decent I guess =/

In talledega he is the main antagonist so not exactly a bit part.
In Sweeney Todd he plays Pirelli; which is a supporting role with a decent amount of screen time.

Watchmen 6/10

Inexplicable use of songs in the soundtrack and the plot was all over the place - but it was still pretty entertaining.
