I wrote a brief tutorial on how Raven Software accomplished ambient light in Quake 4 maps. You can find it here:

Nice, but isn't LEM a better place for this?

LEM is mostly for Quake 3 LD and I see that most of Q4 discussion is going on here. Sorry about that. If a mod feels that it should be moved, then feel free to do so.

there has been a decent amount of interest expressed in LEM re: q4, so I think it's ok to post this kind of thing there.

Deleted your double post.

Interesting tutorial. I'll have to play around with this a little.

Although your intentions are great, We've seen all sorts of games passing thru. Name a Q3 engine game and the question has been answered, even D3 engine questions are welcome here.

[my idea regarding LeM-forum]We're just a bunch of weird types slapping brushes around, Who love to share their knowledge. AND collaborate to take LeM just a bit further then any developer thought he could go. :D [/my idea regarding LEM-forum]

i thought that LEM was open to D3 discussion ~ so i don't think the step to q4 is that far. plus i believe that q4 will be mapped for a lot more than d3.
