Since some weeks ago, I'm experiencing a weird problem with teleporters. Normally, if you stand in front of some teleporter, you can see what's on "the other side". The teleporter is showing a nice dancing image of what is going on. Well, now I have a black opaque spot in place of this. What is happening ?

What is fastsky ? In my config file, the parameter for that command is "0".

Try doing vid_restart. Sometimes textures dont load properly and that will reload all the textures. If that doesnt work, ensure that lightmap and dynamic lights and all those settings are turned on.

This is what I'm talking about :

See the black part on the teleporter, where I put the cross ? It shouldn't be like this. What's going on ?

I dunno what your problem is, it should be like the macintosh discussion icon at the top of this page (minus the small macintosh in the teleporter). You might try re-copying the Pak0.pk3 file from your Q3 CD to your Quake3\baseq3 folder or trying a default config file (backup your current one first) to see if that solves it. It could be something as simple as an overlooked config parameter or a texture could be screwed up.

I just tried this :

I completelly removed my config file so Quake could make a new one, and I reinstalled the pak0.pk3 file from the original CD. Well, same problem. The black part is still there ! :-(

Canis,

I've found the cause of this problem ! IT'S A MAP CONFLICT ! %$#@&*!

I had to isolate the map within an hundred of custom maps. The one which is causing the trouble is the WTF MAPS PACK !

----> wtf-q3a_v3.pk3 <-------

Removing this pork solved my problem. However, I need it to play on my favorite server (Juju's join), and this version (v3) is the final one according to the official web site !
