So, which expansions are better, Quake 2's or Quake 1's?

Hard to say. Scourge of Armagon for :q1: was amazing (and a MP I still consider to be one of the best MPs ever made for any game), while Dissolution of Eternity sucked immensely hairy balls. Both MPS for :q2: were rather disapointing, but Ground Zero was slightly better than The Reckoning.

Ground zero seems rather cool with that chainsaw and all...

I thought Ground Zero's pretty cool. I enjoyed the Reckoning not as much as Ground zero.
Why not get all of them by the way? It's not like they're that expensive.

Could you give me links to brand new ones that are cheap? Oh and by the way I need some of the money left over to buy Half-Life 2.

Remember, Quake 4 Collector's Edition comes with Q2 and both expansions...
Usually you can find it at the same price as Vanilla Q4 too.

My favourite retail Quake 1 expansion is an unofficial one called "Abyss of Pandemonium", but that's quite hard to get hold of these days.

Yah, I got Malice here too. Got it when I had my Mac Clone as it was one of the few things that advertised cross-platform compatability.
We even rigged that up and LANned it with 2 Macs for some DM fun.
Had some really whacky ideas such as the hoverboards, parachutes and submarines.
Cheesy voice acting though :icon32:

Seriously, give AoP a look, it's got some great stuff in it.

I've actually never played any of the expansion packs. I got the Q4 Special Edition with Q2 expansions, but no music. :(

If anyone can point out a place that sells them, I'll pick up a copy too.

If you ever buy hl2, make a new account with it. That way you'll have a friend to play css/hl2dm with if they don't own 'em yet.
